My name is Vajeen Shawkat-Salima

This blog has started after years of observing, reflecting and analyzing my life as young woman, living in Kurdistan. My story began from childhood, when my father handed me the very first book in my life. I can still remember the joy, trust and responsibility I felt as five year old. I knew then and there, I was handed an opportunity to tell a story. For years, I was trying to figure out, what that story is !

To begin this journey, I wanted to understand humans around me. As a result, I found myself majoring in Sociology and then getting an MA in International Cooperation and Development.

After many readings, traveling, discovering and putting pieces together. I decided to write my thoughts and feelings and put my mind out there in this little corner of the internet. For someone, somewhere, may feel and know that they are not alone !
